An apostille is a certificate used for documents going to countries that are party to the Hague Apostille Convention.
In Ireland, apostilles are issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs. For a notarised document, the Department checks the notary's signature and seal before issuing the certificate.
Common documents requiring an apostille include powers of attorney, company documents, certificates of incorporation, affidavits, statutory declarations, academic qualifications and personal certificates.
We can arrange or advise on the apostille process after notarisation. Government fees and turnaround times should be checked before the document is submitted.
