Powers of attorney and deeds
Powers of attorney are often needed when someone abroad must sign or act on your behalf. They are common in foreign property purchases and sales, overseas company matters, litigation, banking and registry filings.
For the document to be accepted abroad, it usually needs to be signed before a Notary Public and may also need an apostille or legalisation.
Do not sign the document before the appointment unless we have confirmed that this is acceptable. If a foreign lawyer has provided required wording, send it to us before you attend.
Send us the document and any signing instructions first. We will confirm what is required before the appointment.
